Driving from Lustica Bay
The peninsula road links the resort back to the main bay in about 25 minutes, where Kotor car rental pickups and the Old Town sit at the head of the fjord, roughly 30 km away by the coastal route. The road is paved throughout but narrow and winding in places, so allow a little extra time and drive steadily.
Tivat and its waterfront are the closest hub, around 20 minutes by car, and Tivat Airport is a similar distance for arrivals and departures. Budva and the open-coast beaches are reachable in well under an hour once you rejoin the main road south.
Day trips from Lustica Bay
With a car, the resort opens up the whole peninsula and bay. The sandy cove of Plavi Horizonti and the quieter beaches toward the peninsula tip are short drives away, Tivat and Porto Montenegro are 20 minutes off, and Kotor, Perast and the Lovcen mountain road make an easy full-day loop. Heading the other way, Budva and the southern beaches are a comfortable morning's drive.
When to visit
Lustica Bay is at its liveliest in summer, when the marina, beach club and restaurants are in full swing and the peninsula roads are busy with visitors; book your car early for July and August. Spring and autumn give you the clearest roads, the best light over the water and quieter driving, while in winter the resort is calm and the bay roads stay open and easy, which suits a relaxed self-drive trip.
